Dear [NAME], January 26th is Australia Day. What do you know about Australia Day? Did you know that the tradition of having Australia Day as a national holiday on 26 January is a recent one. Not until 1935 did all the Australian states and territories use that name to mark that date. Not until 1994 did they begin to celebrate Australia Day consistently as a public holiday on that date. National Australia Day Council has provided us with interesting information about Australia Day. What's going on in for each state as we come together and celebrate together on this Day. What drew Australians together in this way? Did Australia Day become a day for all Australians to enjoy? Find out more about History about Australia Day.
Find out about our National Symbols: the Australian Flag, National Anthem, National floral Emblem, National Gemstone and National Colours.
How about some fun activities that the children will enjoy? Find out how to make a Flag. Did you know the flag is made up of a number of parts, can you name them?
