Leopard Seal  Leopard Seal - also known as Hydrurga leptonyx

 

These large seals are like the leopards of the sea. They are ferocious predators that live alone on the edge of pack ice in Antarctica.

They have a small, lizard-like head with large jaws and sharp teeth. Penguins and smaller seals of the southern seas live in fear of these deadly hunters, which are always on the lookout for a meal.
