These large seals are like the leopards of the sea. They are ferocious predators that live alone on the edge of pack ice in Antarctica. They have a small, lizard-like head with large jaws and sharp teeth. Penguins and smaller seals of the southern seas live in fear of these deadly hunters, which are always on the lookout for a meal.
