Success Habits for Teenagers Workshop

Developing your most valuable resource – YOU!

10.00 - 4.00pm

Whole Day workshop for High School Students

At EQ Strategist, we recognise that building a platform for success, inspiration and fulfilment goes well beyond the traditional 3R’s of Language, Reading, and Mathematics. While a baseline of knowledge and technical skills is necessary, it is the balancing act of character, values, motivational and interpersonal or emotional competencies that gives students the right context for applying those skills effectively in the 21st century. Research into the field of Emotional Intelligence indicates that 2 out of 3 skills or attributes possessed by high performance individuals lie in one’s Emotional, as opposed to Cognitive Intelligence. Competencies like Self-Awareness, Adaptability, Empathy, Inspiring Others, Initiative, Resolving Conflict and Self-Drive. In this day and age, the pressure to excel at exams and attain academic “excellence” too often comes at the cost of comprising the development of this essential component of personal development and effectiveness.

Success Habits for Teenagers is a fun, highly interactive 1 - day workshop, designed specifically for teenagers (School Years 8 - 12) and incorporating activities and audio-visual learning tools. You will learn:
  • The habits, thought patterns and beliefs that differentiate high achievers from the rest i.e. the Emotional Competencies
  • How to set and achieve goals effectively
  • How to overcome anxiety, worry and procrastination
  • How to manage your time effectively
  • How to say ‘no’ to peer pressure
  • How to break through limiting beliefs about what you can and cannot do
  • How to get the very most out of your time!

Discovering your Dream Career

Find success and freedom doing what you love best!

Sunday 7th February 2010

Your career decision is one of the most important choices you will make in your lifetime. Far too many people work in seemingly dead-end jobs that seem to be heading nowhere. All too often, they simply cannot wait for retirement to come along. And in the meantime, they “get by” with jobs that they’re ill-equipped to manage, that neither satisfy nor stimulate them. Some may be well-remunerated, and yet find their work to be a spiritual void. “Trapped” by invisible “golden” handcuffs – a slave to a job that provides security but neither stimulates nor bears meaning or purpose.
Often, the criteria they use for career selection include one or more of the following:

Appears to be “interesting” or glamorous
Following on Mum or Dad’s footsteps, even if their personality, skills and interests may not quite suit
Succumbing to “social” pressure i.e. the expectations of others – family members, friends, community, etc.
What is perceived to create stability and security and is financially rewarding
Settling for something they feel they’re capable of at the time

And yet, there are those who seem to have “dream jobs” doing what they love doing best, jobs that seem to be “right up their alley” when it comes to the use of their unique strengths and talents, that enable them to make a significant difference to the lives of the people they serve and who are well-rewarded for their efforts.

“Discovering your Dream Career” is a full-day workshop designed to inspire and empower you with the tools and strategies that will put you on the path towards discovering YOUR own unique voice. Drawing on the strategies of those who have great careers that they’re absolutely passionate about, it will give you insights into important perspectives on what it takes to identify and create a career that’s satisfying in all dimensions – financially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Join us for a stimulating, highly interactive, enjoyable and inspiring workshop, filled with anecdotes and practical exercises.
