Guided Backstage Tour of Sydney Opera House

Gain "exclusive access" to areas of the Sydney Opera House that are normally reserved for staff and performers only. Sit in the orchestra's pit. Stand where legends have performed. Get inside the stars' dressing rooms. Hear about the real life dramas that go on behind the curtain.

Australia's Sydney Opera House was destined for greatness ever since it was opened in 1973. This iconic building is a UNESCO World Heritage listed site joining the likes of the Taj Mahal, the Statue of Liberty, the Great Wall of China and Egypt's pyramids as one of the world's 'must-see' travel attractions.

Your backstage tour of the Opera House begins at 7:00am to ensure you can access the "inner sanctum areas", which are restricted later in the day. This intimate tour gives you an exclusive insight into the inner workings of the building, and gain access normally reserved for performers and crew.

Highlights:

  • Imagine… standing on-stage in the world-famous Concert Hall or Opera Theatre, emulating superstars such as Bryn Terfel, Dame Joan Sutherland and Rudolph Nureyev.
  • Imagine… striding through the orchestra pit like a maestro, and step-up onto the conductor's podium, baton in hand.
  • Imagine… relaxing in the star's dressing room - complete with Steinway Grand Piano of course!
  • Explore less glamorous parts too; the precincts of the stagehands and crew such as the scenery dock and fly towers.

Afterwards, you will head back to the Green Room, the private domain of stars, performers and staff, for a full breakfast with your guide.
