Tasman Island - Wild and Rugged - Tasmania

Treat yourself to the real wild life experience aboard the ENCOUNTER - a 12.6m double deck Eco adventure vessel.

From the moment the tour begins, your senses are bombarded with the sights, sounds and smells of this spectacular slice of Tasmania. Marine animals (Seals, dolphins and Fairy Penguins), pelagic seabirds (Albatross and shearwaters) abound this nutrient rich eco system, feasting on the smorgasbord this area provides.

Australian and New Zealand fur Seals work, rest, and play for the majority of their year on the 'haul outs' of Cape Hauy, Cape Pillar and Tasman Island. The tour also encompasses the migratory path of Humpback and Southern Right Whales.

Our experienced skippers take you into seacaves and the geological arches that announce the beginning of this amazing stretch of coastline. Speed through the only drive through cave we are aware of in Australia. You will witness the highest towering sea cliffs in Australia and feel the solitude of Tasman Island and its light station at the South Eastern extremity of Tasmania. Tour operator, skipper/guide and son of one of our last real light keepers, Craig Parsey grew up on a variety of lighthouse stations around Tasmania's diverse coastline.

The tour includes a break in the peaceful waters of Canoe Bay, The Tasman National Park, with Tasmanian Wine and nibbles provided aboard our eco vessel. Few places in the world can boast of such natural wonders as those offered by Sealife Experience on this ultimate Tasmanian Wilderness Cruise.

Marine Wildlife observations 2006: Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, Minkie Whales, Pilot Whales, Common and Bottlenose Dolphins, Australian and New Zealand Fur Seals, Wandering/Shy/Buller's/Yellow Nosed and Grey Headed Albatross, Giant Petrels, Prions, Shearwaters, Fairy Penguins, Australasian Gannets, Gulls, Sea Eagles, Falcons, Tuna, Mako Sharks, Sunfish and so much more.
